The Expert Exploitation Specialist/Data Scientist will serve as a technical lead for automating complex cross-functional workflows, modernizing production processes, and optimizing digital transfer methods to enhance GEOINT content delivery across NGA and partner organizations. This senior role requires deep technical expertise in data science, automation, and systems integration, combined with mission-focused knowledge of NGA Foundation GEOINT products and processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of automation solutions to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and reduce manual effort across the GEOINT production lifecycle.
Architect and optimize digital transfer processes and delivery pipelines to ensure secure, timely, and accurate dissemination of GEOINT products.
Serve as a technical authority in cross-functional operations, supporting efforts in custom product creation, data integrity, DLA support, and CADRG development.
Apply expert-level Python programming skills and other automation-relevant languages to develop, test, and deploy scalable data exploitation solutions.
Integrate disparate systems across the enterprise using API design, development, and implementation, ensuring seamless connectivity and interoperability.
Design, implement, and optimize relational databases to support high-performance data storage, access, and retrieval.
Lead ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) development for complex geospatial datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability for downstream analytic applications.
Develop, implement, and maintain workflow automation systems tailored to GEOINT mission requirements.
Collaborate with NGA, DoD, and IC stakeholders to align automation strategies with operational priorities and evolving mission needs.
Mentor junior data scientists and engineers, providing technical direction and best practices in automation and GEOINT exploitation.
Required Skills & Experience:
Expert or Senior-level proficiency in Python and related languages applicable to workflow automation and systems integration.
Demonstrated expertise in workflow automation design and implementation at enterprise scale.
Advanced experience with ETL processes for geospatial and imagery data.
Proven track record of integrating disparate systems through API development.
Strong background in database design, implementation, and optimization for mission-critical environments.
Direct DoD/C/NGA experience with a deep understanding of NGA Foundation GEOINT products, data types, and delivery methods.
Proven leadership experience in technical solution delivery, process modernization, and enterprise-level automation initiatives.
Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively across organizations and mission partners.
